        12. Ms Faye Hansen asked -

        (a) How many formal complaints have been made since the Protocol re Sexual Misconduct by clergy and church workers has been in operation?

        (b) What have been the outcomes of these complaints?

        (c) Has counselling been provided or funded for those who have claimed to have been victims of sexual misconduct by clergy or church workers?

        (d) What criteria has been used to determine how much is given for counselling support to those who have claimed to be victims?

        (e) Have any alleged offenders been referred to professional counselling or treatment programmes?

        To which the President replied -

        This is a very sensitive matter. Synod has a right to know that its money is being spent well, however I hope you understand that matters of confidentiality are involved.

        (a) A number of complaints have been made.

        (b) Each case has been dealt with on an individual basis and as thoroughly as possible.

        (c) Yes.

        (d) Every case has been looked at individually. Professional advice has been sought in particular cases.

        (e) Yes.
