After the completion of various matters previously mentioned, the Rt Rev the President, in the terms of the Ordinance, called for nominations of duly qualified persons for the office of the Archbishop of the See of Sydney. In so doing, he ruled that such nominations in accordance with the Ordinance should be in writing, signed by the person nominating, and by some other member of Synod as seconder, and be handed to the Secretaries of the Synod, such names not being read out at the time of their nomination.
