An Ordinance to amend the Church Administration Ordinance 1990.

The Synod of the Diocese of Sydney Ordains -

Name of Ordinance

1. This Ordinance is the Church Administration (Miscellaneous Amendments) Ordinance 1990.

Amendment of the Church Administration Ordinance 1990

2. The Church Administration Ordinance 1990 is amended as follows -

(a) in clauses 11(1)(a) and 12(1)(a) the matter “after the meeting has been opened,” is deleted wherever occurring;

(b) in clauses 11(1)(c) and 12(1)(c) the word “appoint” is deleted wherever occurring and “elect” is inserted instead;

(c) clauses 11(1)(d) and 12(1)(d) are deleted;

(d) in clauses 11(1)(j) and 12(1)(j) the word “appoint” is deleted and “elect” is inserted instead;

(e) in clause 15(2) the matter “or appointed” is deleted;

(f) in clause 19(1)(b)(iv) the matter “name, address and occupation” is deleted and “name and address” is inserted instead;

(g) in clause 19(1)(e)(ii) the matter “name, address and occupation” is deleted and “name and address” is inserted instead;

(h) in clause 19(3) the matter “or church office” is inserted after the word “church”;

(i) in clause 20(1)(c) -

(i) the matter “payable to the churchwardens” is deleted and the matter “the churchwardens are responsible for collecting” is inserted instead; and

(ii) the matter “without delay” is deleted and “as soon as practicable” is inserted instead;

(j) clauses 20(1)(k)(vi) and (vii) are deleted;

(k) in clause 20(3) the matter “and (f)” is deleted and “, (f) and (i)” is inserted instead;

(l) in clause 25(3) the matter “,(b)(i) or (c)(ii)” is inserted after “paragraph (a)”;

(m) clause 30(1)(a)(iii) is deleted and the following is inserted instead -

“(iii) the qualified persons elected and appointed to the parish council at and after that annual vestry meeting in accordance with this Ordinance.”;

(n) clause 30(2)(c) is deleted and the following is inserted instead -

“(c) the qualified persons elected and appointed to the parish council at and after the annual vestry meeting of the principal church in accordance with this Ordinance; and”; and

(o) clause 33 is deleted.
